Link between acne, food and stress
Acne is the number one factor because of which, the people visit cosmetologists and dermatologists. It is now far-familiar that acne can be caused due to stress during the already turbulent teen years. Many teenagers including their parents, and to some extent those in the medical field, also consider that stress can surely trigger and worsen zits or acne outbreaks. However, there have been no proper researches to reveal that this is the sole reason why teenage girls and boys suffer from the acne.

Researchers at Stanford University attempted to expose a common myth, but finished showing that it is true: stress can worsen the acne condition. For this, the college-going students were observed closely, and when exam time was just nearer, acne worsened! The more stress complained by the students, the worse were the acne. It was then thought that this worsening could be because of alteration in dietary and/or sleep pattern during the periods of exams, as compared to the stress itself.
The experts come to the point that changing hormonal levels and neuro-active substances during the stressful conditions might be the main culprit. If that is so, relaxing and stress reduction treatments that can reduce stress related brain chemicals (such as biofeedback) must prove to be the most effective ways to cure acne, even if only performed for some minutes but on daily basis. Some of the highly professionals including NASA, have formulated biofeedback computer and video games wherein the players win just by having reduced stress signals in the brain and not by hand-eye coordination solely. Reducing the stress will not only bring down the acne condition but can also help overcoming number of other health ailments such as asthma, epilepsy, migraine, high blood pressure and many more.

The link between acne, food and stress is no more hidden truth. Especially acne and food go hand-in-hand. If there are some foods that aggravate the acne condition, other foods markedly improve the acne condition. The fruits that contain Vitamin A such as apricots (whether fresh or dried), Grapes, Oranges, Mangoes, Watermelons, Avocadoes, Cherries etc help reducing the acne condition. The vegetables that contain vitamin A include Carrot, Broccoli, Coriander, Spinach, Sweet Potatoes, and Beetroots etc.
It is known that drinking plenty of water a day also helps reducing the acne condition. This also expels the excess sodium, toxins and metals present in the bodily organs and various muscles. For better result, drink plain water with little bit lemon squeezed. It is very well established that the most common causative factors of acne includes eating too much dairy products that includes pasteurized milk, various types of cheeses, chocolates, margarines, yoghurts (curd), creams etc. This could be due to all of these foods finally slower down the metabolism and then give raise to acne producing factors. Other factors that can give rise to acne conditions include over eating of caffeine, alcohol (in any form), candies, eggs, garlic, mushroom, broccolis, pumpkins and oyster.
